Mom Uniform--Summer Vacation Edition

Mom Uniform--Summer Vacation Edition

Is there a “Mom uniform”? If you’ve spent any time in an orthodontist waiting room or standing outside an elementary school at 3:00 you might agree there is. Most moms are looking for outfits that are comfortable and easy to wear. Our day might include running errands, changing diapers, or attending kids activities. But most moms still want to express our personal style.

As a mom of 7 I get it- the struggle is real! I love clothes and fashion, but what’s a realistic outfit when I’m buying in bulk at Costco, or attending my 5th baseball game of the week?? Some easy ways you can break up your “mom uniform” and stand out in the crowd is by adding some fun accessories. You can still be comfortable and look put together in the summer with some quick tips.

I’ve included 3 looks you will find me wearing this summer while “momming” around town. Remember, those kids are home ALL day now so you’ll be adding extra work AND fun into your already busy day. These ideas will hopefully help simplify your look while your laundry piles grows and the grocery bill triples.

1. Midi skirt

Shorts are not my friend but I love a good midi skirt. The length still keeps you cool on hot summer days, but keeps you covered when you’re bending over to scoop up kids. It’s an easy look that can be dressed up or down depending on your day. They look great w/ a graphic tee and sneakers or can go day to night with a cute cami and a heel.

2. Army green/camo jacket

An army green jacket can really pull your look together. I like to pair mine with a striped or graphic tee. It can also be a fun look to pair with a cute hat or scarf and can be dressed up or down with shoes and jewelry.

3. Paperbag waist pant

You had me at paper bag! I am living for all versions of this look this year. They are a comfortable alternative to jeans and can be really flattering! Depending on the style, they look best with a fitted top and a great slip on sandal.
